Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan hasil analisis kebutuhan dalam pengembangan materi pembelajaran Bahasa Jepang berbasis nilai-nilai Ke-Darul Uluman di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Jombang. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model Hannafin & Peck. Temuan dari tahap analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa materi ajar yang digunakan masih bersifat umum dan kurang mengakomodasi nilai-nilai khas pesantren, seperti kejujuran, kesabaran, ketekunan, keikhlasan, tawakal, dan syukur. Hasil wawancara, observasi, dan telaah dokumen mengungkapkan bahwa guru dan siswa merasakan pentingnya materi yang lebih kontekstual dan mencerminkan karakter santri. Analisis kebutuhan ini menjadi dasar dalam pengembangan materi ajar yang tidak hanya berorientasi linguistik, tetapi juga menanamkan nilai karakter islami, relevan dengan kehidupan siswa di lingkungan pesantren.

This article aims to describe the need analysis results in developing Japanese language learning materials based on the values of Ke-Darul Uluman at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Jombang. The approach used is the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Hannafin & Peck model. Findings from the needs assessment stage show that the current learning materials are general and do not accommodate the unique pesantren values, such as honesty, patience, perseverance, sincerity, tawakal (reliance on God), and gratitude. Interviews, observations, and document analysis revealed that both teachers and students emphasized the importance of more contextual materials that reflect santri character. This needs analysis serves as the foundation for developing instructional materials that are not only linguistically oriented but also embed Islamic character values relevant to the pesantren student environment.
