Article Processing Charge (APC) Policy

Effective for all manuscripts submitted on or after 1 July 2026

1. Open Access Commitment

Register: Jurnal Ilmiah Teknologi Informasi operates under a fully open-access publishing model, ensuring unrestricted and permanent access to all published scholarly research. To sustain the high-quality editorial and publication infrastructure that underpins this commitment encompassing rigorous peer review coordination, professional copyediting, Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registration, long-term digital archiving, and secure online hosting an Article Processing Charge (APC) is levied upon manuscripts that have been formally accepted for publication.

The APC reflects the actual costs of delivering a transparent, credible, and internationally accessible publication service. The journal does not operate a subscription-based revenue model; the APC constitutes the sole mechanism through which editorial and operational sustainability is maintained.

2. General Principles

  1. No submission fee is applied at any stage prior to formal editorial acceptance, except in the case of the optional Fast Track service (see Section 4).
  2. The Standard APC is payable exclusively upon receipt of a formal acceptance decision or Letter of Acceptance (LoA) issued by the Editor-in-Chief.
  3. All charges are denominated in United States Dollars (USD).
  4. Authors are encouraged to confirm institutional or grant-based funding for the APC prior to submission, to facilitate timely payment upon acceptance.

3. Standard APC Structure (Regular Track)

3.1  Overview

The Regular Track is the standard editorial pathway for all submissions. Manuscripts undergo a full double-blind peer review process in accordance with the journal's editorial schedule, without priority handling or expedited reviewer assignment.

3.2  APC and Payment Schedule

Standard APC: USD 500 (payable upon acceptance)

  • No payment of any kind is required at the time of, or prior to, submission.
  • The APC becomes payable only upon receipt of the Letter of Acceptance (LoA).
  • Payment instructions and a formal invoice will be provided together with the LoA.

4. Fast Track (Expedited Editorial Processing)

4.1  Overview

An optional Fast Track service is available to authors who require an accelerated editorial decision for compelling academic or administrative reasons, including but not limited to: graduation requirements, grant reporting deadlines, or applications for academic promotion.

4.2  Fee Structure and Payment Schedule

Total Fast Track APC: USD 1,000 — payable in two instalments as follows : 

The initial Fast Track fee of USD 100 must be transferred immediately following submission and constitutes the activation payment for expedited handling. Failure to remit this payment within 24 hours of submission will result in the manuscript reverting to the Regular Track. The remaining balance of USD 900 is payable upon receipt of the Letter of Acceptance (LoA), consistent with the Regular Track payment timeline.

4.3  Submission Procedure

To request Fast Track processing, authors must adhere to the following procedure in its entirety:

  1. During submission (OJS Step 1 - Start), enter the phrase "FAST TRACK REQUEST" verbatim in the "Comments for the Editor" field.
  2. Transfer the Fast Track initial payment of USD 100 to the journal's official bank account immediately upon completion of submission.
  3. Upload proof of payment via the "Pre-Review Discussions" section in OJS, using the format specified below:

4.4  Service Guarantees

  • A first-round editorial decision Accepted, Revision Required, or Rejected will be issued within five (5) to ten (10) working days following confirmed receipt of the initial payment.
  • The manuscript will receive priority administrative handling and expedited reviewer assignment throughout the editorial process.

4.5  Conditions and Limitations

  • The Fast Track service does not guarantee acceptance. All manuscripts, irrespective of track, are evaluated solely on their scientific merit.
  • Peer review standards applied under the Fast Track are identical to those of the Regular Track; no concessions are made to review rigour.
  • The initial Fast Track fee of USD 100 is non-refundable if the manuscript is rejected on the grounds of scientific merit following peer review.
